Hill of the O’Neill & Ranfurly House is one of Ireland’s most special places. This ancient site was both the setting of gruesome battles and home to one of Ireland’s most powerful dynasties.

The Arts & Visitors Centre is open for the public to learn about the Irish Culture and clan leaders who paved the foundations of what we now know as Ulster and Ireland.

The Challenge

Hill of the O’Neill & Ranfurly House required a modern website to showcase the facilities and extensive range of tours and events offered throughout the year. The WebsiteNI team were challenged with designing a site that showcased everything the tourist attraction has to offer, as well as creating a sense of allure to users on the site.

Our Solution

  • Immediate Captivation – The Hill of The O’Neill & Ranfurly House’s goal was to increase visitors to the historic destination. The aesthetic design of the site helps to create interest and intrigue with users. Thus, playing a crucial part in not only increasing time spent on the website, but also generating enquiries and increasing visitor numbers.
  • Giving Prominence to The Navigation – The Art’s and Visitor Centre has a wide-ranging target audience. This includes historical societies, families, tourists, schools and colleges. The websites menu was designed to ensure easy navigation to key areas on the site – Explore, What’s On, Learn and Venue Hire. Thus, enabling the wide variety of users to find the information they require quickly and easily.
  • Online Booking Integration – A booking system within the website allows the audience to seamlessly view and book exhibitions, tours or events. Specific dates and times can be selected quickly and easily.
  • Flexible WordPress content management system – Developed within the WordPress platform with an easy-to-use Content Management System. This enables administrators in the Arts & Visitors Centre to keep the website relevant and up-to-date. Details about events and exhibitions can be added or updated, as well as changes made to existing images and content.
