The challenge

The 14CHRONO Centre had a dated website that required a complete revamp to bring it into line with current best practice with regards to website design and technology. The old website did not reflect the current offering and core value proposition of the organisation.  Poor navigation made it difficult for different users to find information.

Our solution

  • Modern, bespoke new website: The WebsiteNI team worked in close partnership with The 14CHRONO Centre to create a contemporary new website using corporate colours, authentic images and visual content and icons to truly reflect the organisation’s experience, purpose, expertise and investment in technology.
  • User-friendly with clear pathways: Clean navigation and prominent signposts to information provide clear pathways for different website visitors to find the information that is relevant to them.
  • ‘Submit Sample’ feature: Having commissioned an Accelerator Mass Spectrometer facility in 2007, The 14CHRONO Centre process about 200 unknown samples per month and maintains a high level of availability of its resources, ensuring rapid turnaround on carbon dates. The new website features a prominent ‘Submit Sample’ button on the top navigation to be easily accessible throughout the website, which links to The 14CHRONO Centre’s database.
  • Flexible WordPress CMS: The website was developed within the WordPress platform with an easy to use Content Management System to allow The 14CHRONO Centre to effectively maintain a professional online presence.
