About the Ambition to Grow Programme
Ambition to Grow is designed for innovative and ambitious micro, small, and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Northern Ireland with a determination to sell outside the region. Through the programme, businesses can compete for up to £45,000 in funding to support growth initiatives.
The programme aims to help businesses:
- Increase employment by funding new roles
- Innovate processes and improve operations
- Expand into export markets
- Build valuable connections with like-minded business owners

How Your Business Can Benefit
The programme offers funding and support tailored to different areas of growth:
- Up to £30,000 to create new jobs within your business
- Up to £10,000 for activities that drive business development, including market research, product development, or skills training
- £5,000 upon completing an Export Health Check, Innovate NI Self-Assessment, and participation in two Ambition to Grow workshops
These funds are designed to directly support growth and equip your business with the tools and knowledge to succeed in new markets.
Who Can Apply?
Ambition to Grow is open to Northern Ireland-based businesses that meet the eligibility criteria. To apply, your business should:
- Have a product or service suitable for selling outside Northern Ireland
- Show potential for new employment within the business
- Demonstrate a need for government support
- Have an annual turnover under £2m or sales outside Northern Ireland less than £250,000
