The Irish Central Border Area Network (ICBAN) was established to improve the quality of life and prosperity of the Central Border Region by creating a dynamic model of best practice and partnership in cross border development. ICBAN was founded to promote cross-border co-operation and communication at a Local Government level on common regional development concerns. This provided a forum to respond to the unique economic and social needs of the Central Border Region. It is one of three Local Authority led Cross Border Networks working in the border area.
At a time when funding for the bodies have been significantly reduced, ICBAN now required a cost-effective website redevelopment to reflect their more focused and streamlined work programmes.
The new website serves as a modern user-friendly and accessible information source. The website design features clear signposts, imagery and message, providing an uncluttered platform to promote ICBAN’s activities and navigate the website visitor to the relevant information they are looking for. The responsive design and build works seamlessly across a range of browsers, from desktop through to tablet and mobile.
A key objective of the website was to develop and enhance communication tools including social media applications. The new website integrates with ICBAN’s social media and is styled to show social media feeds and stream in one area and in a format that is in keeping with the overall design theme of the website.
The new ICBAN website includes a library of publications, broken into Themed sections and a bank of information resources. Through gaining a thorough understanding of the website user’s needs, we were able to design and build an elegant solution and intuitive interface and architecture categorised in a number of different formats to provide links to relevant sites, information and publications and make it easy for users to find the information they need.
The website is set-up with the WordPress Content Management System to enable administrators at ICBAN to fully manage the new website and update content and images throughout the site.
